MASTER CREAM PIE

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 - 1 C. sugar

 

1/2 C. flour

 

1/2 t. salt

 

2 C. hot milk

 

3 egg yolks

 

2 T. butter

 

1-2 t. vanilla

 

1/2 - 1 C. coconut

 

 

 

 

 

1 pie shell (baked)

 

1 8oz. Cream cheese

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Mix sugar, flour, and salt.  Gradually stir in milk and set over hot water (double boiler).  Or cook on top of stove, stirring constantly until thickened.

 

Blend a small amount of hot mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks (approx. 1/2 - 1 cup).

 

Cook 2 minutes stir constantly and add butter and vanilla.

 

Beat cream cheese until smooth and add 1/4 cup pudding at a time stirring constantly until well blended and pour into shell.

 

Can stir in some cool whip when cool before putting in shell.
