CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE

INGREDIENTS:

2 C. sugar

 

2 C. flour

 

1 t. soda

 

1 C. butter

 

1/4 C. cocoa

 

1 C. water

 

2 eggs

 

1/2 C. buttermilk

 

1 t. vanilla

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FROSTING

 

 

 

1/2 C. butter

 

1/4 C. cocoa

 

6 T. buttermilk

 

1 box powdered sugar

 

1 t. vanilla

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Sift sugar, flour and soda in a large bowl.  Melt together butter, cocoa, add water and bring to a boil.  Add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth.  Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla and mix for 2 minutes.

 

Bake in greased/floured jellyroll pan in preheated 350 F. oven for 12-15 minutes or until cake tests done.  Frost while cake is hot.

 

FROSTING:

Bring butter, cocoa and buttermilk to a boil.  Add powdered sugar and vanilla and mix until smooth.  Spread over hot chocolate sheet cake.
