SWEET CORN BREAD

INGREDIENTS:

1 C. yellow cornmeal

 

1 C. all purpose flour

 

1/2 C. sugar

 

4 t. baking powder

 

1/2 t. salt

 

1 C. milk

 

1/4 C. shortening

 

1 egg

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat oven to 425 F.  Grease a square 8x8x2 or 9x9x2 pan.  Blend all ingredients 20 seconds.  Beat vigorously 1 minute.  Pour into pan.  Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
